Where High Achievers Share Their Keys to Success

Ximena Juega: Road to Success Owning a YouTube Channel

Ximena, a Spanish YouTuber currently residing in Abu Dhabi, has achieved great success with her YouTube channel, where she creates content about Roblox. Today, she will share insights about her journey with the channel and she will offer valuable tips for running a successful YouTube channel.

How did you get the idea to create your YouTube channel?

I started the channel at the age of 9, I was in 4th grade. The idea to create this channel came to me from my father, one day. Honestly, I don’t remember the conversation very well because it was spontaneous. But, he knew that I really liked playing Roblox, one day he told me: “Ximena, why don’t we record a Roblox video and upload it on YouTube?”. The next day, he showed me a little bit how to record and we posted it.

When you published your first videos, did you expect to have that many subscribers?

When I first started publishing my videos, I didn’t expect to have this quantity at all, especially since I began without any knowledge of editing videos. I expected to reach a maximum of 1,000 subscribers.

Has an influencer or person inspired you to create your own channel? Who was it?

I was inspired by the Roblox YouTubers of that time. I loved watching Roblox videos. In my mind, I was thinking, “I want to do the same thing too.” These YouTubers inspired me.

What type of video do you most frequently produce and why?

The type of video I record most often is about decoration and construction. I make tutorials. I really enjoy building, and interior decoration, which is something I appreciate. I make videos to share my passion and hope that people will enjoy them. That’s why I do it.

What game do you record most frequently and why?

The game that I record most often is Welcome to Bloxburg, because it offers a lot of freedom to do what you want. You can build any type of stucture, whether it’s a house, a restaurant, or anything else. You can role-play with a lot of people, because to the freedom it offers.

What was your strategy to gain so many subscribers on YouTube?

My strategy has been to be consistent in creating videos and, especially, not to give up, not to stop producing these videos. Because when you start, you obviously don’t have a professional microphone, you don’t know how to edit, you don’t know how to create thumbnails, but with time, you learn, and then you improve. I would say that being consistent and not giving up is essential.

To be consistent on YouTube, how do you manage your daily life and your YouTube channel?

I usually record videos on weekends, I record them and then edit them. I don’t usually edit them much, what I focus on more is the thumbnail. I dedicate some time every week, especially on weekends, to make these videos.

Have you ever had another experience in your life that impressed or impacted you in any way?

An experience I had was when, a few months ago, I moved from Spain to Abu Dhabi, where I currently live. It has been quite a significant experience that has changed many things, because I feel that the life I have now is not the same as the one I had in Spain.

If someone wanted to have a YouTube channel as successful as yours, what advice would you give that person?

A piece of advice that has greatly helped me is to focus on the title. For instance, an important strategy to encourage people to click on the video and gain subscribers and views is to focus on the title and thumbnail. Make a short title in capital letters, as it grabs more attention, and the same goes for the thumbnail: use colors and keep it simple, as it attracts more attention.

How do you feel about the growth of your YouTube channel? Is there anything in particular that surprises you?

I am very, very happy about the growth because when I started this, at 9 years old, I never thought I would have so much, I didn’t think I would go beyond 1,000 subscribers. So, seeing that I have come this far makes me very, very happy. Additionally, something that impressed me in all of this was the most viewed video I have, which reached 7, almost 8 million views!
