Did you wonder how a Minecraft Creator who joined the Lifesteal SMP can become well-known? Meet Hannah, who will tell us more about how she started playing Minecraft and how she managed to make a well-known Minecraft YouTube channel.

How did you start playing Minecraft?
I originally started playing Minecraft in 8th grade! Someone at my school was wearing a Minecraft shirt and I asked them what it was. I downloaded the game the next day and we played Survival Games together! And that was how my obsession with PvP and minigames started.
How did you start your YouTube Channel?
I started my YouTube channel to showcase my gameplay to my friends! In 2014, I was obsessed with Mineplex and games like One in the Quiver and UHC. I wanted to show my friends cool moments, and eventually some of the videos took off!
When you started playing Minecraft, did you imagine you would have such a successful channel?
I absolutely didn’t think I would have a successful channel. From 2014-2020, I was mostly uploading for fun as a side hobby. In 2020, I went home from college because of the pandemic and finally decided to take YouTube and streaming seriously. I uploaded a ton during that era and eventually something started to do well, which was Bedwars!
How did you get invited to the biggest Minecraft competition, the Ender Cup?
I got invited to the biggest Minecraft competition by Scott, or Smajor! I’m a regular participant in MCC and got lucky enough to play in the Ender Cup because of that!
How did you get to participate in the Vidcon event?
In 2021 I was invited to my first Vidcon in Abu Dhabi. It was one of the most awesome experiences of my life, and one of my first times leaving the United States! After that, I was invited back to Vidcon in Anaheim for 2022. Vidcon is always my favorite part of the year and I love to meet new friends and viewers who enjoy my content!
How do you think your channel gets girls involved in gaming?
I always try to make my channels a safe space for women in gaming. The gaming community is a very male dominated space, especially in competitive niches like PvP. My overall goal with content is to show girls that you can be successful in male dominated careers, and to not be afraid to follow your passion and do what makes you happy.
Why did you join LifestealSMP? Does it live up to expectations?
I was actually invited to Lifesteal SMP Season 6 about a week before it began! We had a one-off conversation about it at some point, but I didn’t know if it would happen. I was randomly invited to the Discord and joined a call with about 20 other creators congratulating me on joining! Not only does it live up to my expectations, but it goes beyond them. I think that the Lifesteal SMP is such an amazing content environment because everyone truly supports each other and wants everybody to succeed. Not only that, but everyone is real life friends as well. I didn’t realize that when I joined I would also be gaining 30 new amazing friends, and I am so grateful for that.
Did your channel evolve in a certain way? How do you envision it in the future?
My channel has evolved a ton throughout the years. I originally began with Minecraft UHC, a Battle Royale gamemode where you can only regain your hearts with golden apples. This became my obsession for about 6 years, until I went off to college. During the pandemic when college was on pause, I found Bedwars and started making TikToks showcasing my Bedwars traps. Then, I started participating in a ton of Minecraft events like MCC and Block Wars. I still hope to continue playing in these events as well, but I really want the future of my content to be on SMPs like the Lifesteal SMP! I’m going to be uploading videos on this soon as well!
If a Minecraft player asks for advice on creating a successful YouTube channel, which advice would you give? Why?
I would say don’t be afraid to get started. The best thing you can do is post your first video or do your first stream, even if it’s scary at first. You’ll improve every single video or stream that you do. Definitely do what makes you happy, but look at trends and what’s popular in the community as well!
